Today is S

Sand sculptures on seashores

Soothing waves slapping shores
sending children screeching
sandaled feet sinking slowly
sucked down in salt waters

starving artists seeking attention
sand castles on shinning shores
sculptures slowly taking shape
sharks and surfers sharing spotlights

sunshine sparkling on sand
stylishly stunning displays
simple sweet summer days
of shimmery silvery seascapes

NaPoWriMo: 30 NEW Writing Prompts for National Poetry Month 2011

22. Write a poem that only has five syllables in each line. Give the poem a long title.
We'd sit on the seawall and feel the cool air off the ocean

memories of us
linger in my mind...
Our toes in the sand
the wind in our hair
seagulls in the sky
sun shining brightly...
we ran to the waves
salt on your tan skin
I kiss you so hard
we fall in the waves
laughing at ourselves
you held my hand tight
you fell to one knee
promise forever

I miss you more now
while the sun light fades
alone on the shores
where you still linger

in the seagulls cry
and the soft sea breeze
the sun melts away
in all I see you

In my mind lingers
memories of us....
