NaPoWriMo: 30 NEW Writing Prompts for National Poetry Month 2011

10. Write a poem about one of the deadly seven sins that only contains seven words a line.
Greed

a rapacious desire will take you in
personal gain is where it will begin
with all you have, you want more
Greed got under your skin for sure

betrayal and disloyalty are not far away
soon manipulation will slip into each day
hoarding and scavenging to get your needs
in the name of your selfish Greed

Greed will only lessen your heads clarity
though you try disguising it with charity
unless you give up, you wont win
Greed is one of the deadly sins

OOO we found this to be a challenge...
YOUR TURN
ENJOY

  5. Great poem! It's impressive that you were able to stick with the seven words per line and still managed to make it rhyme.
