NaPoWriMo: 30 NEW Writing Prompts for National Poetry Month 2011

3. Write a poem that is really a love letter to an old flame. To make sure it’s doesn’t slip into sappy make sure one or more of these words is in the poem: dung beetle, politician, nuclear, exoskeleton, oceanography, pompadour, toilet.THIS SHOULD BE FUN.... lets see...OK  OURS IS...

I saw you yesterday,
though I doubt you noticed,
you were in a fountain
or was it a toilet...

I remembered us then...
me, oceanography,
you,  nuclear politician,
those were the days, weren't they...

my exoskeleton?
it softened just a bit,
looking at your pompadour
being taken back to ...

Then it hit me, square on,
the way we left it, us...
what a dung beetle !!
I ought to thank you...

NAH...stay in your fountain !

LOL.. The things we think of , I mean REALLY !!!
YOUR TURN
ENJOY
